The Colorado Ballet Auxiliary is dedicated to the support of one of the nation’s premier dance companies. Established in
1986, the Auxiliary is a vital cultural force in the arts community. Through its programs, the Auxiliary solely benefits Colorado Ballet
by promoting support and appreciation of ballet. Its primary goals include developing future audiences through children’s programs
and providing financial support for dance opportunities in schools throughout the metropolitan region.

Fundraising Presentation Programs
The Sugarplum program is a memorable tradition for second grade girls and a long-standing social event in Denver. A season of fun, friendship,
and ballet appreciation culminates with The Sugarplum Ball followed by an on-stage presentation at the Colorado Ballet's magical performance
of The Nutcracker. There are many group activities for the Sugarplums including the mother-daughter tea, an ice skating
outing with their dads, a holiday party and the Sugarplum Ball.
The Sugarplum Alum program continues as part of the Sugarplum program. During this second year of the Sugarplum program, these third grade girls
attend The Sugarplum Ball and actually perform on stage in one of the Colorado Ballet's performances of The Nutcracker.
Colorado Ballet Auxiliary, in collaboration with Colorado Ballet, is proud to announce our exciting dance appreciation and social activities
club for boys and girls in 3rd, 4th & 5th grades.
Stagedoor is a terrific way for kids to participate in fun social activities, meet kids from other schools and experience the excitement of
going backstage for each ballet performance. The kids are dropped off at the Ellie Caulkins Stagedoor to begin an amazing theatrical
experience backstage with Colorado Ballet; starting with a pre-show rehearsal by the dancers followed by a session learning about the many
elements that go into creating live performance.
The program is designed for a 2-3 year participation with each year featuring new backstage experiences while promoting friendship and a
fun appreciation of dance.
Day of Dance, the year-end finale will feature different styles of dance each year. The kids will have fun learning hip hop, jazz,
African dance, ballet, line dancing, Bollywood or even flash mob!
