The day before a production’s premiere, our doors are open for students to see the final dress rehearsal in the beautiful Ellie Caulkins Opera House. For a heavily discounted price, student groups are invited to experience ballet first hand, complete with full costumes, make-up, sets, lighting and sound. Then the curtain opens and the magic begins!

To request a spot for any of the productions, your school must fill out the reservation request form after clicking the register button for the matinee below. (emails will not be considered). Please look at the instructions page on how to register your school here before completing the registration form. If you have any questions, please e-mail Cassie Wilson at

10 is the minimum amount of seats that may be requested for all student matinee performances (5 students MINIMUM). Requests that do not meet these requirements will not be considered.

**Please note: this is a reservation REQUEST form. Completing this request does not guarantee your school seats at your selected matinee. Once reviewed, submissions will receive either an acceptance email with a link to pay for seats or a waitlist notification**

Cost (one free chaperone per 10 students registered):

  • Title 1 or 76 %-100% FRL Rate = $5
  • 26% - 75% FRL Rate = $8
  • 0% - 25% FRL Rate = $10
  • Home Schools, dance studios, private schools, other organizations = $15

Accompanying Workshop at YOUR SCHOOL!
Get Some Answers and Become Dancers - In this one hour workshop at your school or site, students will learn the history behind ballet, the etiquette of going to the theater, and get to try some ballet moves themselves. This workshop is only available to schools/sites that are attending one of the student matinee performances. Peter Pan will take audiences on a high-flying adventure to Neverland where Peter Pan, Wendy, John and Michael experience pirates, Lost Boys, Captain Hook, an infamous crocodile and a bit of pixie dust as this brilliant story unfolds. With choreography by Michael Pink and music by Philip Feeney, this ballet features the same artistic duo that created the acclaimed ballet Dracula, which Colorado audiences will recall from sold-out performances in fall of 2017.

This season’s Tour de Force program continues in the spirit of innovative dance with dynamic and acclaimed contemporary works. Tour de Force opens with Feast of the Gods by choreographer Edwaard Liang, who won the Prince Prize for Choreography and was nominated for the Golden Mast Award in Russia for Best Production. The program will include the world premiere of an all-new work, and close with Celts, by choreographer Lila York.
