July 28, 2020
Dear Colorado Ballet Academy Families,
As the fall semester approaches, Colorado Ballet Academy continues to assess the safest way that we can provide exceptional dance instruction to all of our Academy students. The current pandemic situation continues to change daily, and we are doing our best to plan for the unknown. At this point, considering the safety of all students, families, faculty and staff, we have made the decision to continue all training on our virtual, online platform until further notice.
This summer, we have successfully led our Summer Intensive, Young Dancer Workshop, Summer Camps and our Creative Dance, Pre-Ballet, Level 1 Classes on our virtual platform. Our teachers and students alike have learned how to work in the virtual world, and the dedication, enthusiasm and improvement our students have shown this summer is truly remarkable. While the pandemic has prevented us from training in-person, it has allowed our students the rare opportunity to have regular classes with our leaders and other prominent members of the dance community. Our standards for providing the highest caliber training will continue, and we look forward to teaching and inspiring your dancers this fall!
Fall classes will begin as scheduled on August 17, 2020. Due to limitations of the virtual platform we will not be able to offer all of the options for classes in the Children’s Division as well as some of our Level 2 sections. If you have registered for a class that is no longer offered during the 2020-2021 school year, we will place you in the class that has the most similar meeting time/day(s) and reach out to you with updated level registration. Additionally, several class schedules have been rearranged. Please visit our website to find the most updated schedule for your class.
Because our fall programming will be offered virtually, CBA has reduced tuition for all levels. Additionally, we are offering a 5% tuition discount for registrations received by August 3, 2020.
For families who have not yet registered, please visit our website.
Families who have already registered for in-person classes will automatically have their registration transferred to the new program with the 5% tuition discount applied. Any tuition or fees that have been paid above the new pricing levels will be refunded to the original form of payment. Those who have established a payment plan will have their plans credited and adjusted for the new pricing levels. If we are able to return to CBA’s studios this year, the reduced tuition will not be increased.
If you would like to donate any or all of the tuition overage to CBA, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you!
If you have any questions or concerns about CBA’s Virtual Fall classes, please email us at email@example.com.
We miss dancing in our beautiful building, buzzing with activity from all of our joyful students! While we love seeing and connecting with our students via Zoom, we are hopeful that we will have the ability to phase-in a safe return to in-person classes during this school year. We strive to maintain social responsibility during these unprecedented times and are optimistic that we will all return to the studios stronger than ever.
Colorado Ballet Academy to Remain Closed for the Rest of the Semester
April 20, 2020
Dear Colorado Ballet Academy Families,
We would like to take this time to thank everyone for their patience and understanding as Colorado Ballet Academy (CBA)
has taken time to determine the best plan of action for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year.
As we continue to navigate this pandemic as a community, with a heavy heart, CBA feels that it is our social responsibility
to continue our transition to online classes for the remainder of the Academy year to help ensure the health and safety
of our families, instructors and staff. Like Denver's public schools, we will not hold in-person classes for the remainder
of the semester.
Our faculty and staff believe consistent dance training and continued connection with teachers and peers is extremely important
during this time. To this end, CBA will be offering three additional weeks of virtual classes beyond the end of the
semester using Zoom Video Conferencing through May 30. We have increased our offerings for each level of the Academy
through May 9 and will continue to offer this schedule from May 11 - 30. All classes through May 30, as well as our
YouTube Video Library, are offered at no additional cost to our Academy families. Your tuition is being applied towards
costs associated with running our virtual classes, paying our teachers and keeping our administrative staff employed.
With the absence of in-person classes and the continued closure of the Denver Performing Arts Complex, sadly the year-end
performance of Coppélia will not take place. Additionally, Saturday Soirees, Creative Dance and Pre-Ballet Showcases
will also be cancelled. Please see below options for ticket purchases.
Ticket holders may:
1.) Turn your ticket(s) purchase into a donation and help us finish the season strong. All ticket donations are considered
charitable contributions. Thank you for your support!
2.) Receive an on-account credit that can be applied to tickets for the 2020/2021 season. This credit can be used for
subscriptions or single tickets when purchased by phone. The credit will be good for one year for the value of
the tickets, if purchased through Colorado Ballet.
3.) Exchange your tickets for a gift certificate for a performance during the 2020/2021 season.
4.) Receive a refund for your tickets to be applied to the original method of payment.
In order to request one of these four options, please fill out our online form.
If we do not receive a form for option 1, 3 or 4 above, option 2 will automatically be applied to your ticket purchase.
We are currently in discussions regarding our summer programs and are developing a plan of how we may be able to responsibly
execute our Summer Intensive, Young Dancer Workshop, camps and classes. A decision regarding CBA Summer Intensive will
be announced by the end of next week. All May 1 auto-payments for Summer Intensive will be delayed until a decision
has been made. If you are a current Colorado Ballet Academy student and have received word that your planned summer
program at another school has been cancelled, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We understand that everyone is feeling the effects of this situation and many are facing financial hardships that could
not have been foreseen. CBA is here to help support our families in any way possible. Our staff is here to speak with
you at any time about all available options. Please reach out to us through the Academy email address, email@example.com, so that we may set up the best way to contact you directly.
On behalf of the entire Colorado Ballet, we appreciate everyone’s continued support. We anticipate a joyful, eventual return
to the studios and cannot express enough how much we miss our students!

Colorado Ballet Academy Closed Through April 30—Virtual classes start next week
April 14, 2020
Dear Colorado Ballet Families,
Thank you so much for your patience and understanding during our time away from the studios. We miss all of our students
dearly and would like to extend a virtual hug to everyone!
Following Denver Public Schools (DPS) and the mandates by our local government, CBA will remain closed through April 30.
For now, we are hoping to be able to return to classes on May 4. While DPS and other school districts in the region
have indicated students will not be returning to school for the rest of the semester, we will make our decision to
re-open based on local government mandates for the Denver Performing Arts Complex and businesses. Once we have been
cleared to return to the studios, please rest assured that we will have additional cleaning and safety procedures in
As of today, we are considering extending our semester and rescheduling the production of Coppélia to May 31 and
the Children’s Division Showcase to June 6. Please keep in mind that these are possibilities and subject to change given regional regulations and the progression of COVID-19.
CBA will be hosting ballet classes through Zoom Video Conferencing. We are so excited to offer a virtual return to classes
along with our comprehensive video library! CBA is offering a Zoom schedule that includes all levels of ballet on a
modified schedule, with the intention that students will be able to attend their virtual school, train in ballet and
have dinner at a reasonable hour.
Since classes will be modified for home training and focused on maintaining technique and fitness, students will be allowed
to take as many classes as they would like in their level or the next level up. The instructors are able to see everyone
in attendance and offer guidance and corrections. CBA understands that Zoom classes do not directly replace the in-studio
experience, but these virtual classes will allow our students to continue their training and stay connected during
this uncertain time.
If you have not received an email from Academy Admin, please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information about our virtual classes.
It has been wonderful to connect with our students again, although virtually, and we look forward to the joyful day when
we can return to the studio. Please do not hesitate to contact the Academy with questions or concerns at email@example.com.

Colorado Ballet Academy Closed through April 18
March 20, 2020
Dear Colorado Ballet Academy Students and Families,
In light of the current COVID-19 situation and following guidelines set forth by the state and nationally, Colorado Ballet
Academy will remain closed through April 18th.
We understand the serious effects this will have on our Artists, School, Faculty and Students. All of us are waiting to
see how our lives will be impacted by this situation. Our top priority is keeping our students and communities safe.
Many employment sectors are taking a ‘hit,' and the performing arts are at great risk. Performance revenue and class
fees are two major income streams for Colorado Ballet. We are doing our best to support our artists, faculty and staff
as well as our students during this time.
As the situation continues to develop, we will be assessing our ability to safely open our doors again to our students.
We are currently planning for three possible scenarios, all dependent on restrictions mandated by the Governor. We
are considering our options of returning April 20th, May 11th and, in the worst case, not returning until our summer
sessions begin in June. As of now our Summer Camps and Summer Intensives will remain as scheduled.
During the closures, we will be offering online options for classes for all of our students to remain active and in-shape
while practicing proper social distancing. Many of our teachers have already offered short routines on our Facebook
and Instagram pages. Be sure to follow for more fun updates! In the coming weeks we will be sending out full length,
level appropriate classes taught by our CBA faculty.
We understand that this situation is impacting everyone, including our families. As the situation continues to unfold,
we will work to provide financial options that are equitable for all families while keeping the best interest of the
entire Colorado Ballet community in mind. When a final decision has been made regarding our date to reopen we will
be in touch with detailed options.
We are heartbroken to be away from our beloved CBA students and families for such a long period of time. Our Colorado Ballet
community is strong, and we are confident that the support of our amazing families, faculty and staff will carry us
through this uncertain time.
Thank you for your support and dedication to Colorado Ballet Academy.
If you are no longer attending classes nor affiliated with CBA, or received this email in error, please accept our apologies.
